Mihaela S. Hegstrom’s book “Grace and Truth” expresses great truths about our need for God, describing very honestly feelings of both joy and disappointment, as expressed in the poems “Through Deceptions” and “I Walk Through The Desert.” It addresses questions of all kinds, such as: “What Can I Bring Him?”, “What Am I?”, “Why Don’t You Want to Come?”, “Did You Receive Me?” and others. These questions reveal the different needs of our souls.
The poems in this book are intended to be read and then reflected upon independently so they may be well understood. They have to be approached with an open mind, a mind willing to comprehend the depth of thoughts and feelings conveyed.

Mihaela S. Hegstrom was born in Bucharest, Romania. She got her degree in mechanical engineering and a teaching certificate from the Technical University for Civil Engineers–Department of Mechanical Engineering in Bucharest. In 1979, her family moved to Chicago, where she later met and married Robert Hegstrom.
Mihaela worked as a substitute teacher at different high-schools from Chicago area. While working, She is the author of PRAISES IN THE STORM and THE MYSTERIES OF MY SOUL. She also wrote both of these books in the Romanian language, these original versions LAUDE IN FURTUNA and TAINELE SUFLETULUI MEU published in Romania. She and her husband have two grown-up children and currently live in Chicago.
